prestonmacy.dev · last updated 26 October 2026
The prestonmacy.dev app is a private command-line tool that Preston Macy uses to read and organise his own email accounts and those of his household. It has no other users. This page explains what data the tool touches and what happens to it.
What the tool accesses
When an account owner signs in with Google, the tool receives permission to read, organise, draft and send email in that Gmail account. It uses this only to show and manage that account's mail at the owner's request.
Where data is kept
Sign-in tokens and any mail the tool downloads are stored only on Preston Macy's own computers. Nothing is sent to a server run for this tool, because there isn't one. This website does not collect anything and uses no cookies or analytics.
Sharing
Data from Google accounts is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with anyone else. When the account owner asks an AI assistant on their own computer to summarise or sort their mail, the messages involved are sent to that assistant's provider only to answer that request, and are never used to train AI models.
The tool's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
An account owner can withdraw the tool's access at any time from their Google Account permissions page. Locally stored tokens and mail are deleted on request.
